sale of your work. While each person here has a particular focus, each
one of us is available to discuss and help with your project. We treat

The Team
Margret McBride
Owner/President
Margret gained eight years experience in the publishing industry prior to establishing her San Diego agency in 1980. She worked in the marketing departments of Random House and Ballantine Books in New York. Later, she became the Director of Publicity at Warner Books, and Director of Publicity, Promotions and Advertising for Pinnacle Books. She is a member of the Association of Authors Representatives (AAR), Author’s Guild, Authors League and serves on the La Jolla Playhouse Board at the University of California at San Diego.
Margret previously served on the Library Board of the University of California at San Diego and under her five-year direction, the UCSD Writers Conference attracted a distinguished faculty of publishers, editors and agents, as well as international participants.
Margret’s initial success as a literary agent began in 1981 with the sale of the New York Times bestseller, THE ONE MINUTE MANAGER by Ken Blanchard and Spencer Johnson M.D., which is now in its twenty-fifth year as an international bestseller.
Donna DeGutis
Vice President and Associate Agent
Donna will assist you in advising you on the requirements of a proposal, the sale negotiations and the contract. She also manages the finances of the office. If you have questions about fine-tuning your project, the sale of your book, or the publishing contract, she will answer your questions.
Faye Atchison
Projects Manager and Assistant to Margret McBride
Faye handles correspondence between publishers, authors and the agency, and provides liaison, continuity and logistics for Ms. McBride. As projects manager she handles the flow of manuscripts inside the office and with the publisher. She has a BA in Fine Arts from San Diego State University. If you have a question, from submissions within the office to working with the publisher after the sale, Faye will find your answer.
Anne Bomke
Royalties and Foreign Rights Sales Agent
Anne manages accounting and royalties for foreign and domestic sales and sales for twenty-six languages in the foreign market. She has a BA in Rhetoric from U C Berkeley. If you have questions about advances, royalty payments and foreign sales, Anne will give you the information you seek.
Michael F. Daley
Submissions Manager
Michael handles all query submissions. He is a graduate of U. C. Berkeley’s Boalt Law School and is looking for the next possible best selling author.
Assistant to Submissions Manager
Alanna Feldman
Alanna reviews and handles unsolicited submissions for us on a part-time basis. She is a student at UCSD in La Jolla and her major is in Literature/Writing. If you have any questions about your submission, Alanna will get back to you with an answer.
